Everything is in place at Liverpool for Mamadou Sakho and his teammates to grow under Jürgen Klopp, according to the France international.

The centre-back has made 24 starts since the manager’s appointment last October and has been a reliable and dominant figure in defence.

As Sakho nears the conclusion of his third season with the Reds, he is feeling more settled than ever before and primed to capitalise on the stability at Anfield.

“With the coach [here], it goes differently for me,” the No.17 said. “He’s very human, super close to his players and all the members of the club. He is very kind.

“We feel he is very expressive but as we said from the beginning, this is really not to be mean to us. Rather, it is to encourage us. There’s a healthy atmosphere. The team is young and talented.

“I really like this city, these fans and this magnificent stadium. I am someone who likes stability, it suits me perfectly.”
