Liverpool's Emre Can has received his first call-up to the senior Germany squad after being included in Joachim Low's selection for the upcoming clashes with Poland and Scotland.

The midfielder featured for his country at the European U21 Championship this summer, helping them reach the semi-final stage before suffering defeat at the hands of Portugal.

And his progress through the international ranks has now been rewarded with his first involvement in the senior setup.

Germany take on Poland in Can's hometown of Frankfurt on September 4, as their European Championship qualification campaign resumes.

They then travel to Glasgow three days later for a meeting with Scotland, who currently trail them by just two points in Group D.
