A young Liverpool fan enjoyed a day to remember at Anfield on Sunday, when he attended the FA Cup third-round tie against Plymouth Argyle.

Taylor Ward and his father, John, were invited to watch the game in an executive box through local charity CHICS, which supports children and young people living with cancer.

The eight-year-old endured a very difficult 2016, having been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in April and undergoing both chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Speaking about his visit to Anfield, Taylor said: “I really enjoyed going to the game with my dad. It was lots of fun in the box and I had lots of treats – sweets, hot chocolate, cakes.”

Just before Christmas, on December 23, Taylor and his family received the fantastic news that he is now in remission.

His dad added: “Having the opportunity to take Taylor to Anfield to watch Liverpool play was brilliant. The executive box was superb and the staff were all very attentive and friendly.

“It’s great to be able to spoil Taylor because he’s been through so much and is such a positive and brave little boy. I love spending quality time together and I can’t thank the club enough.”
