It was a frustrating day at the office for Liverpool U18s as they suffered a 2-0 defeat away at Wolves on Saturday.

With Ben Woodburn and Conor Masterson rested ahead of Thursday's FA Youth Cup fifth round trip to Nottingham Forest, Neil Critchley rotated his squad.

Harvey Whyte was given his first start of the season in the centre of midfield after returning from injury and he can pleased with his outing.

Reflecting on the game, U18s boss Neil Critchley told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was a disappointing and frustrating day to be honest.

"We had a lot of the ball and in the second half we had some good chances but didn't take them.

"Overall we are disappointed because we didn't play the way we expect."
