Les Bleus beat Denmark 2-1 on Saturday evening to make it two wins from two Group D outings, with Liverpool centre-back Konate coming off the bench in the 74th minute.
The score was 1-1 at the time of Konate’s introduction, but Kylian Mbappe soon scored his second goal of the match to secure victory for the reigning champions.
In Group D’s other fixture, Australia defeated Tunisia – France’s final opponents in the pool stage on Wednesday – 1-0.
Meanwhile, in Group C, Argentina overcame Mexico 2-0 with Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez on the mark, and Poland won by the same scoreline against Saudi Arabia thanks to goals from Piotr Zielinski and Robert Lewandowski.
