Round-upWorld Cup: Henderson and Van Dijk feature in Friday's games
Liverpool captain Henderson was a 69th-minute introduction in England’s Group B contest with USA at Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar.
The clash ended in a goalless stalemate, leaving the Three Lions in top spot in the section, one point ahead of Iran, who defeated Wales 2-0.
England will now require a point in their final group game, against the Welsh on November 29, to secure a place in the knockout stage.
Earlier in the day, Van Dijk completed the full 90 minutes as the Netherlands drew 1-1 with Ecuador at Khalifa International Stadium.
Cody Gakpo fired home to give the Dutch an early lead, but the South Americans claimed a point courtesy of an Enner Valencia equaliser.
The two teams sit in the two qualifying places in Group A, each a point ahead of Senegal, who beat Qatar 3-1 in the section’s other fixture.
Van Dijk’s nation can progress to the last 16 with a win or draw when they meet hosts Qatar on November 29.
Coming up
There could be one Red in World Cup action on Saturday, with Ibrahima Konate’s France set to continue their defence of the trophy.
Les Bleus, who were 4-1 winners over Australia in their opening game, next face Denmark in Group D (kick-off 4pm GMT).
