The Reds suffered a disappointing defeat in the capital, trailing 5-0 at the interval before James McConnell bagged a consolation goal in the second half.
U18s boss Marc Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpoolfc.com: "We were far from our best and Charlton were very good and deserve a lot of credit for the way they performed.
"It wasn't our finest game. I think we'll take a couple of days and reflect on it to let the emotion of the game drain away before we look at the video.
"It's a tough one to take, but we'll try to use it how we can."
Liverpool's final group-stage clash in the competition will take place against Wolverhampton Wanderers on November 5.
