The Brazilian would be the second Reds goalkeeper to achieve the feat of 100 clean sheets for the club in the Premier League, after Pepe Reina tallied 134 during his time at Anfield.

The Reds have won 16 of their last 17 league encounters with Wolves, a run going back to January 2011.

Liverpool are one goal short of registering 100 in all home league games against Wolves.

Ibrahima Konate could make his 100th Premier League appearance for the Reds in this match. The centre-back goes into the game one yellow card away from a one-match suspension in the top flight.

Wolves' last Premier League victory at Anfield came in December 2010, when Stephen Ward scored the only goal of the game. They have lost all eight of their top-flight visits since then.

Of Liverpool's last 54 league games played during the month of December they have lost just once – 1-0 at Leicester City in 2021. In the other 53 they have won 39 and drawn 14.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last nine fixtures played on December 27, winning six and drawing three. One of those victories came against Wolves in 1977, with Phil Neal's re-taken penalty securing maximum points.

Liverpool have won 17 of their last 20 Premier League matches between Christmas and New Year (drew two, lost one), including the last five in a row. At Anfield, they have lost just once in their last 32 between Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve (won 25, drew six) – the 1-0 reverse to Wolves in 2010.

This is only the third time since 1986 that Liverpool have played on December 27. In 2016 they beat Stoke City 4-1 and four years later were held to a 1-1 draw by West Bromwich Albion, with both matches at Anfield.

Wolves have gained just two points from 17 Premier League games this season and could become only the second team in English Football League history to record as few points 18 matches into a league campaign after Newport County in the fourth tier in 1970-71.

Meanwhile, the only top-flight side to go winless 18 games into a season are Bolton Wanderers in 1902-03 (first 22).

Liverpool have won each of their last six home Premier League games against teams starting the day bottom of the table by an aggregate scoreline of 20-2, since a 3-2 loss to Swansea City in January 2017.

Wolves boss Rob Edwards managed Luton Town against Liverpool in the Premier League two seasons ago. His side held the Reds at home before losing 4-1 at Anfield.

Only Aston Villa (seven) are currently on a longer unbeaten run in the Premier League than Liverpool (five - won three, drew two), with the Reds winning consecutive league games for the first time since winning their opening five matches of the campaign.

Hugo Ekitike has scored in each of his last three league appearances (five goals) and could become the first Liverpool player other than Mohamed Salah to score in four consecutive outings in the Premier League since Sadio Mane in February 2019.
