By Glenn Price
The forward was substituted in the 45th minute of the Group B encounter with an apparent injury.
Ghana then took the lead moments later through Mohammed Kudus but were pegged back by Omar Marmoush's 69th-minute finish.
Kudus struck again to quickly put Ghana back in front, though Mostafa Mohamed was on target for Egypt to make it 2-2.
The result currently leaves Egypt second in Group B with two points ahead of their third and final fixture against Cape Verde on Monday.
