The 32-year-old – who will wear the No.28 shirt for Liverpool – arrives having captained a Hacken side also including fellow new recruit Alice Bergstrom to the 2025 Damallsvenskan title.

Falk has won 39 senior caps for Sweden and represented her country at the 2020 Olympics, the 2023 World Cup and last summer’s European Championship.

Soon after putting the finishing touches to her temporary move at the AXA Melwood Training Centre, Falk sat down with Liverpoolfc.com for her first interview as a Red.

Jennifer, welcome to Liverpool. How pleased are you to have joined the club on loan?

Thank you. I’m very happy and very excited, I look forward to it. It’s been a dream I’ve had to play in this league and this is a really big club, so I’m really happy.

How were your first conversations with head coach Gareth Taylor and managing director Andy O’Boyle?

I had a meeting with them and I got a very good feeling right from the start. I felt like they knew the way I play and I felt they were very family-oriented, which is important for me. So, I got a very good feeling right from the start.

You’ve just had a tour of the AXA Melwood Training Centre and you met a few staff members too. How nice was it to experience the family environment that has been built here for the first time?

It’s very nice. I think the environment here is amazing, it’s very cosy but it’s big and it has everything that you could need. It was a nice feeling just seeing everything.

You’ve chosen to wear the No.28 shirt – is there a story behind that?

Yeah, I asked my daughter which number she wanted me to have and she said 28. She’s only three so I asked her again 10 minutes later and she said 28 again, so that’s why I chose that number.

How important will it be to know that your daughter has chosen that number when you’re playing for the club?

Yeah, it’s going to be very important. I’m going to feel like she is there with me and I will always have those memories of the conversations we had about choosing the number.

You are joining three fellow Swedes in the squad here – Alice, who you know very well, as well as Cornelia [Kapocs] and Beata [Olsson]. How much will them being here help you settle?

Yeah, having them here will really help me in settling in. It feels really nice to have them all here.

You were captain of Hacken and join Liverpool having just lifted the title in Sweden, alongside Alice. That must have been an extremely proud moment in your career?

Yeah, it really was. It was a big moment and we came second a lot before, so finally winning the title was really big.

Are you hoping to bring those leadership qualities to the group here, as well as your skills as a goalkeeper?

Yeah, I hope so. I always try to be myself and I am very vocal and driven, and I’ll just try to do the same things here that I have done before.

How excited are you to get your first taste of playing in the WSL?

I’m very excited, I look forward to it a lot. It’s something that I have dreamed about, so it’s going to be a great feeling.

Finally, how important is the fans’ support going to be in the second half of the season?

Very important. The fans always give that extra energy that you need on the pitch, so they are going to be very important.
