Liverpool FC Legends will take on AFC Ajax Legends at Anfield on Saturday March 23 (kick-off 3pm GMT) in the annual LFC Foundation charity match.

If you haven’t been to Anfield this season or this is your first visit, there have been a few important updates regarding your matchday experience that are outlined below. Please read carefully before you head to Anfield.

To stay up to date with all the latest matchday information, please follow @LFCHelp on X (formerly Twitter).

KEY INFORMATION

NFC DIGITAL TICKET

Anfield uses NFC (near field communication) technology for stadium entry and all tickets are digital on a smartphone. Please download the tickets before you head to the stadium. There is a download limit of four tickets per device.

To familiarise yourself with using the digital ticket, there is a full guide on how to use your NFC pass at the turnstile here.

TRAVEL

Whether you live locally or are travelling from outside the Liverpool City Region, we recommend that you plan your route in advance and arrive early. Follow this link to find out all the ways to travel to the stadium.

Public transport is the easiest and most efficient way to reach the game.

There is limited parking on Stanley Car Park. To book, visit here.

For disabled supporters, please contact the disability ticketing team.

Please be aware that Anfield is located in a residential area with a residents’ parking scheme in operation. Please DO NOT park on residential streets as parking enforcement will be in operation. Any illegally parked cars will incur a fine.

BAG POLICY

There is a new bag policy for this season. For safety and security purposes, ONLY the following bags are permitted entry into the stadium:

  • Small handheld bag that does not exceed A5 size (148.5 x 210 mm / 5.8 x 8.3 inches).
  • LFC superstore clear carrier bag containing superstore purchases only.

Oversized bags larger than A5 will only be permitted at the discretion of LFC if containing medication and/or medical equipment that cannot fit inside an A5 size bag. All bags permitted will be subjected to a bag search on entry point.

Please report anything suspicious while in and around the ground to your nearest steward or police officer.

There will be a bag-drop facility for anything that is not permitted into the stadium located directly opposite the Kop at Christ Church, 157 Hartnup Street, L5 1UW.

This facility will be managed by LFC Foundation and small bags up to holdall size cost £5, and suitcases or very large bags cost £10. All money raised will be donated to the foundation and, in line with Anfield, payment is card only. The facility will open three hours before kick-off for this match and closes one hour after the final whistle. LFC accepts no responsibility for loss or damage. Items are left at owners’ risk and all bags will be subject to security search.

PUSHCHAIRS/WHEELCHAIRS

All supporters are reminded that there are no storage facilities for pushchairs, walking aids or wheelchairs inside the stadium. Any fans who use a wheelchair or walking aid to get to the stadium on matchday should contact the disability ticketing team on 0151 264 2500 or contact via email on disability@liverpoolfc.com.

The specialist team will assist with any requirements relating to access. This does not include those supporters who have already been allocated a wheelchair bay.

AGE OF ENTRY

Please be advised that anyone under the age of 16 years old attending Anfield must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

CASHLESS STADIUM

Contactless and/or chip and pin payments are required in all areas. No cash payments are accepted.

ANFIELD ROAD

The Anfield Road Stand is still under construction, and we would like to thank fans for their patience attending matches during the building works.

Supporters will enter via turnstiles M, N, O, P, Q and R and can approach from either end of Anfield Road and also from Dahlia Walk.

Please be aware there is no lift access to reach the upper tier for supporters. Any fan with mobility issues in this part of the ground should contact the disability team prior to attending the stadium on 0151 264 2500, selecting the disability option.

Accessible access for lower Anfield Road will be the accessibility gate DA4 located between the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand and Anfield Road Stand and the accessibility gate DA6 located on Anfield Road, from the direction of 97 Avenue.

UPPER ANFIELD ROAD

Following an application to the Sports Ground Safety Authority, safe standing is only permitted in areas of Anfield with rail seating.

Seats without rail seating are not licensed for safe standing – this includes the new Anfield Road Stand upper tier. During the match, fans must remain seated other than significant moments in the match such as goal celebrations.

TACKLING ANTISOCIAL AND CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR

LFC is supporting strong measures across football to tackle antisocial and criminal behaviours within football grounds – including entering the pitch without permission, tragedy chanting and carrying or using smoke devices or pyros.

These are illegal, dangerous and have serious consequences. They have no place in the game. Anyone involved in these activities will be banned by the club and reported to the police.

Love football. Protect the game.

SMOKING OR VAPING

Anfield is a no-smoking football stadium. Any person who smokes inside the stadium will be ejected. This includes electronic cigarettes and vapes.

FLAG AND BANNER POLICY

During previous matches, LFC stewards requested that a number of flags and banners from across the political and national spectrum be removed as they didn’t meet the club’s flag and banner policy, and the additional guidance from the Premier League.

These included flags containing direct calls to action, political statements, national flags and flags that could have caused disquiet, no matter how inoffensive they may seem.

It’s important to follow the rules of the governing bodies of football and ensure that safety remains the No.1 priority for all supporters who come to Anfield.

The current LFC flag policy is that commercially produced flags under 2m x 1m with a small pole (less than 7mm diameter and less than 1m long) will be allowed in all areas of the stadium.

Flags and banners over 2m x 1m may be allowed into the Kop stand or visitors section providing they have an accompanying fire safety certificate and agreement has been requested by the club and given prior to the fixture taking place.

In addition to Anfield’s long-standing flag policy, and following consultation with safety and security experts, it has been determined that Israeli and Palestinian flags should not be permitted to be displayed at football matches for the foreseeable future and the same approach can be applied to other displays, banners, clothing or scarves identified as pro-Israeli or pro-Palestinian or related to the current crisis.

This season’s ground regulations can be found here.

WHAT YOU’RE SUPPORTING

This is the eighth annual legends game, and in that time the event has raised more than £6.4 million in vital funds that benefit people both in the Liverpool City Region and internationally.

The money spent on your ticket will help LFC Foundation to continue its work helping to change lives every day. Last season alone, the foundation supported almost 123,000 individuals, with almost two-thirds of those living in the top 20 per cent most deprived areas of the country.

While sport and improving physical health are at the heart of what the foundation does, its work covers so much more, with 60 per cent of LFC Foundation staff involved in non-sport specific programmes.

This year, LFC Foundation will use a large proportion of money raised from the legends game to support its education programmes.

It continues to develop and support projects to tackle a range of social issues, including poor educational outcomes, youth unemployment and young people becoming involved in gangs and crime.

A percentage of the proceeds from the game will also go to Forever Reds, the club’s official former players association, which provides care for older players in need and supports local charities.

Find out more about the work of LFC Foundation by visiting www.liverpoolfc.com/foundation.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
