Here, we meet OLSC Cincinnati...
Tell us about the OLSC…
Our group formed in 2012, then it was officially licensed in 2013 at Rhinehaus, a bar in the Over The Rhine neighbourhood in downtown Cincinnati. Liverpool fans would see one another at Rhinehaus, or another bar, and eventually started talking and meeting up for the matches.
Liverpool’s push to have more games in the States shifted the unofficial group to want to be official. OLSC Cincinnati was the very first supporters club at Rhinehaus and helped with making the bar the premier soccer bar experience in Cincinnati. We have added members in the past few months and are closing in on 300.
We currently have over 500 members on our Facebook page, but we tend not to remove members who move away so that they can still follow us wherever they end up (of course, we do remove them as OLSC members).
How special is it to have the supporters club where you are?
For a smaller, mid-tier city (330,000), having an official supporters club is a big deal. There are OLSCs that cover an entire region and we’re lucky enough to have one in our very own city. It’s also a testament to how many supporters are in the region. Indeed, we can almost always fill Rhinehaus, or at least outshout everyone else!
It must give you a sense of community and connection to Liverpool and the club itself?
“Two years ago, I moved here to a new city, a new state. Everything was new; new job, new sights, new home. Everything felt unknown, except for Liverpool. I knew once I found the OLSC that I was not alone, and that this transition was going to be a lot smoother and fun with the support of my fellow reds. Since the first time I walked into a Tuesday game for a Champions League match and I met Tom, I have never felt like I am new in this town. I have a new family.” - Santiago Cardenas
What is so special about supporting Liverpool for your members?
“It’s great because I’ve been able to get to know fellow Liverpool fans, watch games with them, and connect in other areas.” - Andrew Brockman
“I became a member and started following Liverpool back in 2014-15 when FC Cincinnati was announced here. I had friends who played soccer and watched soccer, but I didn’t really have a club team growing up. There were the Riverhawks, the Silverbacks, and Columbus, but when it came to a club team, before FC Cincinnati, I was following players, not clubs, due to lack of coverage in the States back in the day. Current friends getting involved with FCC led me to Liverpool.
“We were passionate about the game and when FCC started, a good portion of the members were already LFC fans. They asked me to join and one morning I arrived at Rhinehaus and the rest is history; the friendships, the bonds. Soccer brings countries together and this club is a small-scale example of that!” - Steven Morath
Do you hold meet-ups for games, or any special events throughout the year?
We meet at Rhinehaus for every match; for early matches (7.30am here) the bar even opens early for us knowing we have a strong enough contingency that it’s worthwhile. We have started a Reds/Reds ‘double-header’ tradition, where once or twice a year, we watch Liverpool at Rhinehaus in the afternoon and then go see the Cincinnati Reds that night. It’s a blast! We've also done cookouts, potlucks, and sometimes just plain day drinking out of season, or before/after matches; who wants the party to end?
Has the OLSC ever visited Anfield? If so, what was the experience like? If not, is it on your list of things to do?
OLSC Cincinnati has never visited Anfield as a group. Our supporters apply for, and receive tickets, every year. As one member put it: “Attending a game at Anfield was on my bucket list. I have visited Anfield for four games and plan to visit again in 2027. Anfield is a huge stadium and takes a little while to get used to getting around, but ushers have been friendly and helpful. Pre-game time experience was unforgettable and electrifying with everyone singing the anthem. And game time was great!” - Kokhon Chan
Another member remarked: “I also went to my first Anfield experience for the final match of the 2025-26 season. Whether during the stadium tour that I stretched out to nearly four hours on Friday, or throughout matchday Sunday, I enjoyed every second in or around the grounds. Being able to take in the stadium at my own pace was lovely and helped me fully appreciate the matchday experience even more.
“Still, I had to remind myself several times throughout the match that this was real life, and I was truly living a dream I’ve had for the last 15 years following LFC. I will be forever grateful for OLSC Cincy and LFC for making this dream a reality, and I can’t wait to go back again!
"The match itself had a slightly odd vibe as we said goodbye to two absolute legends in Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson. It was a blast to sing with the crowd and take in this magical experience with friends - 10/10, would recommend!” - Brendan Wood
What is your favourite memory together as an OLSC?
“It definitely has to be winning the 2024-25 Premier League. We had a wonderful crowd, and we all sang the big hits, ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. It literally brought tears to my eyes, I will never forget that day. It was more special because I shared it with my OLSC family.” - Santiago Cardenas
For long-term members, it has to be watching Liverpool win the Champions League final in 2019. We had obtained permission to close off the alley next to Rhinehaus, had a big projector outside (and, of course, the normal 10 TVs inside Rhinehaus), food truck, bevvies and a crowd of hundreds.
Lastly, if anyone else is interested in joining your OLSC, how would they go about doing so?
To receive our match preview and other emails, one needs only sign up and become an official member with us, all detailed on the website and via word of mouth at the bar. One can also join our OLSC via our Facebook page by answering four questions intended to ensure true Liverpool fans only and an address within the Greater Cincinnati area that we serve. The website lists upcoming matches, the bar and its location, as well as any pertinent information for the week. We also have a pre-match preview email that details injuries, predictions, as well as informing members of events.
