AcademyU18s match report: Liverpool produce late comeback to win at Nottingham Forest

Joseph sealed victory for the Reds in the 84th minute with his second finish of the U18 Premier League North contest.

Simon Wiles' side went 2-0 down in the affair in Nottinghamshire but recovered through efforts either side of half-time from La'more Lee Forrester and Joseph.

Shakir Samuels' strike in the 63rd minute restored Forest's advantage, prompting another response from the visitors with a Lucas Clarke header and then the decisive moment from Joseph.

Liverpool survived early Kanye Bradshaw and Gabriel Schluter chances but would concede to the pair midway through the first half.

Teed up by Kalum Thompson, Bradshaw squeezed the ball past Bailey Hall from a tight angle to open the scoring.

Forest's lead was doubled three minutes later, when a breakaway of theirs concluded with a shot from Schluter finding the bottom corner of the net.

But Lee Forrester ensured the Reds' deficit at the break was just one, the 17-year-old pulling a goal back with a hit from outside of the box.

They were back level a handful of minutes into the second period, with Joseph nudging home from close range off a corner.

A second reply was needed, though, after Hall was beaten by Samuel's shot from the right side of the penalty area that made it 3-2.

The comeback was started in minute 82 with Clarke's nod from Joe Upton delivery and completed when Joseph drilled in from distance.
