NewsTrey Nyoni becomes Liverpool's youngest player in Europe

Nyoni made his European debut for the Reds at the age of 17 years and seven months by coming on as a substitute in Wednesday's Champions League game at PSV Eindhoven.

He beat the club's previous record of 17 years, seven months and two days – set by Phil Charnock in August 1992 for a European Cup Winners' Cup first-round first leg against Apollon Limassol.

Nyoni, who arrived from Leicester City in September 2023, is already Liverpool's fifth-youngest debutant of all time.

His senior bow came in last season's Emirates FA Cup tie with Southampton, stepping off the bench at the age of 16 years, eight months and eight days.
