In addition to police prosecution, pitch runners could also be subject to a season-long ban from Anfield.
Public order offences include accessing the player area at any home or away match, throwing objects and the use of pyrotechnics. Under 18s are not exempt from a police enquiry, or the LFC sanctions process.
Superintendent Dave Charnock, from Merseyside Police, said: “Entering the playing area or the area immediately around it is an offence under the Football Offences Act. We urge everyone attending to keep to the public areas, and for parents and guardians to keep young children close by at all times.
“We want people to leave the match having enjoyed the game and the atmosphere safely, not having spent time detained by officers, looking for their child or with a criminal record.”
The club would like to thank fans in advance for their co-operation to ensure Anfield is kept safe for everyone involved.
