NewsSpecial manga artwork of Liverpool 7-0 Man Utd unveiled by Kodansha
In March 2023, the Reds stunned their fierce rivals with a 7-0 victory at Anfield in the Premier League.
Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah each scored twice for the home team and the emphatic result - the largest margin in history between the clubs - was sealed by Roberto Firmino in front of the Kop.
The scenes of that memorable day have since been reproduced in a fresh way - through a new design by manga illustrator Tsujitomo, renowned for his work on the Japanese series GIANT KILLING.

Tsujitomo made a personal visit to Merseyside and Anfield as part of his research and preparation for the piece alongside Kodansha, LFC’s official publication partner.
In crafting the artwork, he was inspired by “the way Liverpool FC brings players, staff, supporters and the stadium together as one” and described the passion and unity of the club as “a powerful source of creative energy”.
The public release of Tsujitomo’s LFC-themed piece comes ahead of the Reds and United renewing their long-standing rivalry at Anfield on Sunday as Premier League football resumes.
“Both manga and football are something that adds colour to your life and makes it more vivid,” said Tsujitomo, whose illustration sets each of Liverpool’s seven celebrations on that historic afternoon against the backdrop of a euphoric Anfield.
Supporters will be able to get a closer look at the unique piece when it is displayed at a new Kodansha Corner II at the Reds’ stadium, which will be launched soon.
