MatchThe opposition lowdown: Wolverhampton Wanderers
Season so far
Wolves remain winless in the Premier League so far this season and are therefore rooted to the bottom of the table.
They have drawn two and lost 15 of their 17 games, with their last outing a 2-0 home defeat by Brentford.
Rob Edwards was appointed as new Wolves boss in November following the departure of Vitor Pereira.
Team news
Visiting captain Toti Gomes has been ruled out of the fixture at Anfield due to injury.
Hugo Beuno, however, may be available after returning to training, while Yerson Mosquera is back after serving a suspension.
Emmanuel Agbadou and Tawanda Chirewa are both unavailable due to their involvement at AFCON.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Marshall Munetsi, Rodrigo Gomes and Leon Chiwome are all long-term absentees, while goalkeeper Daniel Bentley remains out.
Previous meetings
The Reds were 2-1 winners in both Premier League clashes between the clubs last season.
The second of those was at Anfield in February, where first-half goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah (penalty) earned the points.
What they said
Wolves head coach, Edwards
"I'm just thinking about the game itself, and we're looking forward to another really difficult game, but going to Anfield is always enjoyable. It's a real challenge, it's one of the most difficult ones, but one of the ones you look forward to.
"It's always an incredible atmosphere there, but it's just another game and other opportunity for us."
Pre-match stats
Wolves have scored six times in their last 20 league visits to Anfield and not more than once in a game since September 1972, when Steve Kindon and John Richards were on target in a 4-2 defeat.
Their nine league goals this season have come from nine different players.
Wolves have taken one point from a last possible 30 on the road in the Premier League. Their last away victory came eight months ago, winning at Manchester United through a Pablo Sarabia goal.
Of the last 50 league goals scored in this fixture, Liverpool have netted 39.
