MatchThe opposition lowdown: Burnley
Season so far
The Clarets come to Anfield on the back of a 5-1 win at home to Millwall in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup last weekend.
Their most recent league fixture saw them claim a 2-2 draw against Manchester United on January 7, also at Turf Moor.
Parker's charges, who clinched automatic promotion from the Championship in 2024-25, enter the weekend occupying 19th spot in the standings on 13 points.
Key players
Jaidon Anthony and Zian Flemming are Burnley's top scorers so far with six goals apiece in all competitions.
Lesley Ugochukwu – the player with the most appearances this term – has chipped in with three.
Meanwhile, in terms of creativity, left-back Quilindschy Hartman leads the team for assists with four.
Only three players in the entire Premier League have made more tackles and interceptions combined this season than midfielder Florentino.
Team news
Flemming was ruled out of the trip to Anfield by Parker on Thursday, while Lyle Foster and Joe Worrall are going to be assessed.
Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer, Josh Cullen, Connor Roberts and Mike Tresor have been on the sidelines for the Lancashire outfit.
Previous meetings
The reverse fixture was played in the middle of September at Turf Moor, where a 95th-minute penalty from Mohamed Salah was the difference.
Burnley's last visit to Anfield – in February of the 2023-24 campaign – ended in a 3-1 defeat.
That day, Diogo Jota's opener was cancelled out by Dara O'Shea on the stroke of half-time, but Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez efforts meant the hosts pulled away on the scoresheet.
What they said
Burnley head coach Parker
"It was a painful defeat [against the Reds] at Turf Moor earlier in the season – there were a few results in that early part of the season that hurt. We don't look back, though, we only look forwards.
"We took massive positives from that performance, and those can stand us in good stead for this weekend at Anfield. We're going to need to be at our best – and if we are, hopefully we can be on the right side of a result."
Pre-match stats
Since a 1-0 win at Anfield in January 2021, Burnley have lost the last six Premier League meetings between the clubs by an aggregate score of 12-1.
The Clarets have scored 11 goals in 19 Premier League matches versus Liverpool (0.6 per game), only averaging fewer against Arsenal among sides they have faced more than twice (0.5, nine goals in 19 matches).
Burnley are winless in their last 12 league outings (drawn three, lost nine), last going longer without a league victory from December 2006 to March 2007 in the Championship (18).
