Premier LeagueThe opposition lowdown: Bournemouth
Get the lowdown on AFC Bournemouth ahead of Saturday evening's Premier League clash with Liverpool.
Season so far
A stoppage-time equaliser denied Adoni Iraola's men three points at Brighton & Hove Albion at the start of the week.
They enter this weekend in 15th spot in the Premier League standings, having won six of their 22 matches.
Their most recent victory came on January 7 at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
Key players
Following the departure of Antonie Semenyo to Manchester City, Eli Kroupi is now the Cherries' top scorer with seven in all competitions.
Marcus Tavernier, who has been ruled out of this game, is one behind the 19-year-old, while Evanilson has chipped in with four. Marcos Senesi leads the team for assists on four.
Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and central midfielder Alex Scott are ever-present so far this season.
Team news
The midfielder Alex Toth arrived from Ferencvaros on Tuesday and could make his debut.
Tavernier joins Tyler Adams, Matai Akinmboni, David Brooks, Will Dennis, Ben Gannon-Doak and Justin Kluivert on the sidelines.
Iraola is, however, hoping to have Enes Unal available for selection again.
Previous meetings
This league campaign opened with a meeting between the sides at Anfield.
Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo put Liverpool 2-0 up before they were pegged back by a double from Semenyo.
That set the stage for late Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah efforts to seal the points for the hosts.
Meanwhile, the Reds won 2-0 on their last visit to Vitality Stadium in February 2025, with Salah netting in both halves.

Iraola, Bournemouth head coach
"We are coming from very good games, I think. We had Brighton away, Spurs at home – last two league games, four points. The FA Cup game against Newcastle away was one of our best games, I would say. Even the games before – Arsenal, Chelsea – I think they were really good.
"I think this past month has been really good for us. But it's true that if you concede games in December especially, it doesn't look so good. I'm really pleased with what I'm seeing from the team in a very, very difficult situation for us."
Pre-match stats
Bournemouth have conceded 52 goals in their 17 Premier League games against Liverpool – against no side have they shipped more.
The Cherries have only lost two of their last 12 home league matches (won six, drawn four) and ended their five-game winless streak on their turf with that 3-2 win over Tottenham.
They have been beaten in their last three Premier League fixtures at Vitality Stadium that have kicked off at 5.30pm on a Saturday.
Iraola's side have dropped 18 points from winning positions in the league this season and no team has lost more.
