Jarell Quansah is determined to seize his opportunity to impress Jürgen Klopp and his coaching staff during Liverpool's Dubai training camp.

The Academy defender is part of the Reds' 33-man squad in the United Arab Emirates, as preparations for the resumption of club football began on Tuesday.

While Quansah is simply delighted to be with the senior team, the 19-year-old has still adopted the mindset of making every second count on the trip.

Inside Training: Rondos, games and more on day one in Dubai

Detailing his aims after the team's first workout, he told Liverpoolfc.com: "Grab every training session and every opportunity if I get on the pitch [in the] couple of games. It'll be good to get involved in them and just impress the boss really.

"This is why you set off to be a footballer – it's grabbing these types of opportunities, playing with the biggest players.

"It's just trying to see if you're on that level and hopefully surpass them one day.

"It's a great opportunity. I found out about two weeks ago, so enough [time] to prepare. It's a long camp. I speak to my family about it and they're all buzzing for me."

The centre-half, captain of the U19 UEFA Youth League side, has trained with the first team at the AXA Training Centre on a number of occasions.

But he believes the close proximity to such seasoned and accomplished players day in, day out during the Dubai camp will massively benefit him, both on and off the pitch.

Quansah continued: "Obviously I've not been in the environment where it's 24/7 and around the group. It'll be good to familiarise myself with everyone.

"These are some of the best players in the world. Obviously in my position I think we've got the best examples to learn off, so it's all about being a sponge and taking everything in and trying to implement it myself.

"It's elite-level standards. You can already see that in one day that the standards are just through the roof.

"It's just easy to slide into [the group]. As long as you train well and put 100 per cent in, the lads are great with you."
