The Canada international claims the prize at the first opportunity having enjoyed a highly impressive maiden campaign with the Reds since arriving from Sporting CP last summer.
Smith’s 25 appearances in all competitions included nine goals as she finished the term as the team’s top scorer.
Three of those strikes were produced at Anfield, where she was on target against Manchester City in October before netting twice versus Manchester United in March to help secure a first Barclays Women’s Super League win at the stadium.
The forward, who also supplied one assist, finished top of a Liverpoolfc.com Player of the Season poll, ahead of Taylor Hinds in second and Marie Höbinger third.
