There was an official attendance of 60,331 for the 246th competitive meeting between Liverpool and Everton.
Thanks to the expansion of the Anfield Road Stand, that figure easily surpasses the stadium's previous biggest gathering for the famous fixture, set on April 8, 1963.
A total of 56,060 spectators were inside the ground for a goalless First Division affair nearly 62 years ago.
