Press conferenceMilos Kerkez on Marseille, UCL aims, recent form and learning from Andy Robertson
Milos Kerkez anticipates a 'tough' challenge against Marseille as Liverpool target automatic progress to the Champions League last 16.
The Reds resume their European campaign by facing Roberto De Zerbi's team at the Orange Velodrome on Wednesday night.
A draw in the matchday seven fixture would guarantee Arne Slot's men - who complete the league phase at home to Qarabag next week - a spot in the knockout phase play-offs at a minimum.
But Kerkez described the players' determination to qualify for the Round of 16 with a top-eight finish via a pair of victories.
The Hungarian said: "It's important for us. We want to finish in the top eight and go to the last 16. We know we have to win two tough games for that.
"I think tomorrow's game is going to be tough, Marseille are a really good side. It is going to be a tough 90 minutes but we hope to get over the line.
"It is the Champions League, we have two games left and we know we have to win to go through to the last 16, so it is the priority now for Wednesday.
"And then the priority on Saturday is the Premier League again."
Read on for a summary of the rest of Kerkez's Q&A with the media at a pre-match press conference in France on Tuesday evening.
On the mood in the squad and the frustration felt by supporters following Saturday's home draw against Burnley...
Obviously I understand the fans' frustration and of course they have freedom of speech. And we are disappointed also. What I posted [on social media] is that we all should stay really together and in the moments when it doesn't go so well with the results. I understand that fans pay for tickets, to travel to follow us, to support us. We want to win games and we take the responsibility as Liverpool players. Obviously we want to win and tomorrow, for all the fans that come to support us, we want to give them a good moment.
On his relationship with Cody Gakpo on the left wing...
It's not really a problem, I think I play well with Cody, I wouldn't call it a problem. It is my job to give a winger the ball, to make space, to run, to overlap, to underlap, to do everything I can to open space for him to go. And I even create space then for a striker and then it is his decision what he is going to do. We don't have any problem, we talk always, often in training we do the combinations, so there is not really a problem.

I think yes, when I came here, I think every player needs a bit of time to adapt because you come to one of the biggest clubs in the world. I got help from everyone; from the boss, from the players, from staff, from everyone. I think in the last month or so I improved in a lot of areas but I am still not satisfied and of course I want more, and everyone is going to help me to do it.
On what he learns from working alongside fellow left-back Andy Robertson...
[He helped me] a lot. We talked a few times. Like I always said before, Robbo is a legend here in the club, a big player, did a lot of stuff for the club, won trophies. For me it is a privilege to be next to such a player. I am just taking it in, I'm learning, I'm listening always. I just want to improve.
On the dream of winning the Champions League in his career...
When you're young you always watch the Champions League, who lifts the trophy and everything. It is really nice, it is a big achievement. But I'm always focused game by game and I think most of the lads are also. We just take it game by game and want to focus like that. We will see what will happen.
