AcademyLuca Stephenson signs new contract with Liverpool FC
The 18-year-old midfielder held the captain’s armband for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18s for most of the first half of 2021-22, only interrupted by injury.
Highlights included a goal in a 5-0 away victory against Manchester United, as well as playing in the first four group games in the UEFA Youth League, where the Reds have qualified for the last 16.
A combative presence when patrolling in front of his back four, Stephenson also has a fine passing range and can make an impact in the opposition box.
He joined the Reds at U15 level from Sunderland and was an important part of the team that reached the FA Youth Cup final last season.
Stephenson signed his first professional contract with the Reds in September 2020.
