News'That's why I'm disappointed…' - Florian Wirtz's reaction to draw with Forest
The Reds trailed twice at Anfield in the Saturday lunchtime Premier League clash but managed to avoid defeat with a late goal for the second weekend in a row.
Victor Munoz opened his account for the club with a lovely strike in front of the Kop in the 82nd minute to make it 2-2.
"I'm very disappointed," Wirtz told Liverpoolfc.com post-match. "Of course we demand from ourselves the most.
"We couldn't take the three points again, that's why I'm disappointed. We have to keep working on the things we can do better and we have to get back to winning ways."
On Liverpool fighting back, Wirtz continued: "Yeah, of course, that was good.
"But we want more, we don't want to be proud of that we came back into the game after we conceded, we want to be on top of the opponents and want to be better than them and take the wins."
Earlier in the second half, Alexander Isak tapped in from close range to equalise Forest's 24th-minute opener supplied by Dan Ndoye.
Morgan Gibbs-White converted from the penalty spot soon after to put the visitors 2-1 up, but Munoz's hit, in off the crossbar from a Wirtz pass, ensured the spoils were shared.
"Of course, we were 1-0 down so we had to push a little bit more," Wirtz said of Liverpool's performance after the break. "That was the manager's tactic as well.
"I think we were doing better in the second half and then just after we scored, we conceded the penalty. This can happen, but not today.
"I've not seen the situation [back], I don't know if it was a penalty or not, but I think the problem was probably before, that we came into this situation.
"We have to do better, defend quicker, be quicker in the positions. I'm just disappointed about the result."
Looking at the positives, Wirtz feels Liverpool's goalscorers on the day were rightly rewarded for their displays.
"I'm happy for these two guys, they deserved it," the No.7 finished. "They are really working hard in training and every game. Very happy for them."
