The Reds will discover their schedule for the tournament proper’s opening phase when the draw takes place from 12pm BST today.
Thirty-two teams will be split into four seeded pots based on UEFA coefficients and then drawn into eight groups.
Jürgen Klopp’s side are set to be in pot one and cannot face a fellow Premier League club at this stage of the competition, meaning their possible opponents from each of the other pots are as follows.
Pot two: Sporting CP, Slavia Prague, Rennes, Olympiacos, Real Betis, LASK, Marseille, Qarabag.
Pot three: Molde, Sheriff Tiraspol, Union SG, Freiburg, Sparta Prague, Maccabi Haifa, Sturm Graz.
Pot four: Toulouse, AEK Athens, TSC Backa Topola, Servette, Panathinaikos, Aris Limassol, Rakow Czestochowa, Hacken.
