AcademyLiverpool U21s' group-stage opponents in Vertu Trophy confirmed

Led by new head coach Rob Page, the young Reds will face Burton Albion, Chesterfield and Crewe Alexandra in Group H of the Northern Section following Thursday's draw.

The competition is made up of 64 teams: the 48 clubs from League One and League Two plus 16 invited U21 sides, of which Liverpool are one.

The top two from each of the 16 groups advance to the knockout stages.

Page's team will play each of Burton, Chesterfield and Crewe away from home during the group phase. Fixture dates will be confirmed in due course.
