Liverpool could break the British transfer record for the second time this summer as they weigh up a move for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

The record is currently held by Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo, who moved to West London from Brighton in a £115million deal in 2023, but Liverpool are set to usurp that upon the arrival of Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.

The move is yet to be confirmed, with a medical due to take place this week, but is reported to be worth as much as £116m should performance-based add-ons be activated.
