Reaction'We are in a really good way' - Vivien Endemann on pre-season and victory at Man United

The Reds secured a 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon at Carrington as preparations for the 2026-27 campaign continued.

Gareth Taylor's side will take on Durham this weekend in their final friendly outing, which comes ahead of their Barclays Women’s Super League campaign beginning at Charlton Athletic on September 6 (2pm BST kick-off).

Endemann - who made the move to Merseyside this summer following the expiry of her contract at VfL Wolfsburg - has been left pleased by how the Reds' squad have progressed in recent weeks.

"To be honest, I really, really enjoy every game and every training session with the girls," she told Liverpoolfc.com.

"I think we made very good steps in the pre-season, from where we started and where we are now. I think it’s clear that not everything is perfect, but we are in a really good way, another win, four out of four. So, yeah, it’s good."

On the quality of opposition in United…

We knew it was a very strong opponent. For us, it wasn’t that easy. It was quite difficult to play against them because they were very aggressive and they have strong individual players. But I think as a team we managed it very well. We scored our two goals and I think we can be proud of ourselves.

On her own individual battle with the full-back…

I really enjoy being on the pitch, getting the ball and going on the one-against-one. I really enjoy playing for Liverpool.

On having a hand in the winning goal with a cross…

To be honest, in the half-time they said to me that I [should] try to go on the outside against the opponent. I tried and then the cross – Aurélie won [it at] the second post and Ceri scored the goal.

On finishing pre-season at home this Sunday against Durham…

We’re really looking forward to playing for the first time in front of our fans. For me, I’m really looking forward to meeting all the fans. I’m very excited to play a home game. Hopefully we continue getting better and hopefully we win.
