Liverpool are reportedly considering Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano as a potential alternative to Marc Guehi.

The Reds were close to landing the Crystal Palace captain on a permanent deal on deadline day of the summer transfer window before a move fell through late on.

Liverpool remain frontrunners for Guehi's signature, with the England international set to leave Selhurst Park on a free next summer.

Like Guehi, Upamecano's current deal expires in June, with the pair both being monitored by Arne Slot's outfit as they look to bolster their defensive ranks.
