Press conferenceLFC Women team news: Bernabe, Kiernan and Smith updates
Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday, aiming to follow up a 2-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion last time out.
Smith is fine for the 12pm BST kick-off after being forced off against Brighton, but Bernabe is set to be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign and Kiernan is being checked.
“We’re looking OK,” Reds interim head coach Whiteley said at her pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.
“We’re without Alejandra, her muscle injury was a little bit worse than expected so we’ll miss her now for the rest of the season.
“And then we’re just waiting to see how Leanne Kiernan is. She picked up another knock in training on the same leg that she got a knock on against Chelsea. So, we need to see how she is after further assessment.
“Olivia wasn’t as bad as first thought. She’s been in full training this week and will be fine for the weekend.”
