Grace Fisk and Risa Shimizu returned from injury for Gareth Taylor's side in the contest, while goalkeeper Jennifer Falk and Alice Bergstrom were both given full debuts after recently joining the Reds.
Both sides attempted to assert dominance on the fixture in the early exchanges.
Liverpool saw a Ceri Holland effort blocked, before Bergstrom shot wide of the far post after running free on the right side of the box.
In response, Nikita Parris tried to work a header on target for the visitors, though saw her own opening halted by the Reds defence.
The two teams were largely cancelling each other out as the game continued with little in the way of chances in either area.
Jenna Clark was unable to find the target with a header following a Lily Woodham corner ball, while Holland was leading the press from the front, charging down a clearance from goalkeeper Elene Lete.
The second half began in much the same way as the first with little between the sides following the change of ends.
Bergstrom again was proving to be a key attacking threat for Liverpool and went close just ahead of the hour mark.
Kirsty Maclean's ball into the right side of the penalty area was gathered by the attacker, who then lifted a shot towards the top corner of the net that fell inches past the far post.
Bergstrom again saw another low drive blocked by Elena Linari with Liverpool looking the more likely of the two teams to break the deadlock.
In the opposite box, Fisk was forced to intervene from a dangerous ball across the goalmouth by London City in their attempts to thwart the growing pressure.
Holland, however, had a good chance to get on the scoresheet herself, but she could only fire over the bar during a swift break forward that saw Cornelia Kapocs and Maclean combine to put in the No.18 on the left.
It was the closest either team would come to finding the back of the net as the points were shared.
