NewsLFC Foundation celebrates heroes at 2025 Community Awards
The awards ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate and honour individuals from across the Liverpool City Region for demonstrating the club’s values through helping others and improving the lives of those in their communities.
The night was once again hosted by LFCTV’s Peter McDowall, with support from former Reds Ian Rush and Jason McAteer, who presented the awards alongside members of LFC Foundation’s senior leadership team, members of the board of trustees and local singer/songwriter Kieo.
LFC Foundation’s honorary ambassador, Jürgen Klopp, also had a message for those in attendance, saying: “I am proud to be an ambassador of this amazing charity. Keep up the incredible work, you are all an inspiration and what makes this club and the LFC Foundation so special.”
Each person in the room made a significant contribution to their community over the course of a season across all of the charity’s programmes, which support health, learning and employability.
LFC Academy scholar Joe Upton was the recipient of the Community Impact Award for demonstrating outstanding leadership and compassion through his role in the Premier League Inspires Academy Challenge.
He led a social action project on gender equality, organised a football tournament that empowered young girls, and promoted inclusive participation, with boys supporting as referees and coaches.
Matt Parish, CEO of LFC Foundation, said: “We are proud to host the annual Community Awards at Anfield Stadium to celebrate the extraordinary individuals who have made a difference in our community.
“This ceremony is a celebration and a moment of reflection of a season of achievements. It provides us with a chance to acknowledge the impact of participants, volunteers and staff.
“From grassroots initiatives, fundraising campaigns for local organisations, dedicated community work, or striving for improvement in themselves or those around them, each of tonight’s nominated individuals represent the very best of the LFC Foundation.
“Their actions truly remind us of what it means to be a part of a community.”
