ClubLFC to celebrate The Red Way with fans at Anfield
Liverpool FC will use its next three Premier League home games to celebrate and highlight The Red Way, the club's ongoing commitment to creating a better future for its people, planet and communities.
Last month LFC launched the first ever The Red Way Report, which laid out in great detail its club-wide sustainability programme and ambitions for the future.
Now it will bring this great work alive with an array of matchday activation, including programme takeovers and half-time activity, so fans can have an even greater understanding of what The Red Way is, what it hopes to achieve and what role supporters can play.
The Red Way was first launched in 2021 and has become so embedded in the club that now every major initiative or decision that is made comes back to the three key areas - people, planet and communities - that will be highlighted across upcoming home games against Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford.
Planet will be the first pillar to be celebrated, at the Forest match on Saturday April 22, which also happens to be World Earth Day.
This key area will also be spotlighted at Liverpool FC Women’s fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion at Prenton Park on Sunday April 23.
Liverpool FC is leading the way as the first Premier League club to achieve ISO 20121 certification, meaning it is sustainably certified and internationally recognised for its sustainability efforts that leave a legacy to be proud of.
Also, several awards for the club’s Environmental, Social and Governance performance have been achieved, as documented in the report, including topping the Sport Positive League in 2022 as the most environmentally sustainable Premier League football club.
The club’s partners continue to play a vital role in the development of The Red Way, and this will be particularly obvious with lots of partnership activity around World Earth Day.
On the day of the Forest game, fans will be able to win prizes, such as a behind-the-scenes tour of Anfield and other giveaways from the likes of EA Sports, Expedia, SC Johnson, Standard Chartered and Quorn.

When Tottenham come to Anfield on Sunday April 30 there will be a celebration of LFC’s pioneering work with its people, under the direction of the Red Together programme: the club’s commitment to championing equality, diversity and inclusion.
LFC was the first professional football club to be awarded the Advanced Level of the Premier League Equality Standard (now called the Premier League Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Standard) back in 2017. The club continues to evolve its work in this space to always look at ways of improving, specifically through the Red Together Strategy.
Through a matchday programme takeover and other assets, supporters will learn more about Red Together’s focus on celebrating the diversity of the LFC fanbase through delivering multiple campaigns around key dates including Black History Month, International Day of Disability, LGBT+ History Month and International Women’s Day.
Red Together will also be highlighted and celebrated at LFC Women’s home game against Manchester City on Sunday May 7.
And finally at the Brentford match on Saturday May 6, the third pillar of The Red Way - communities - will be spotlighted.
Liverpool FC is known the world over but is rooted in its communities, and much of the club’s work in this vital area is conducted through its official charity, LFC Foundation, and Red Neighbours, its community programme.
The Red Way Report celebrates the fact that last season LFC Foundation supported more than 83,000 people, with almost two-thirds of participants coming from the most deprived areas of the UK.
In the same period, LFC Foundation directly delivered £8 million into the local economy and contributed nearly £25 million in health benefits, bringing real change and creating life-changing opportunities for the most underserved communities in local parks, community hubs, classrooms and on football pitches.
All this amazing work and more will be celebrated on May 6, with matchday activations including a centre circle takeover and the attendance of local school children who benefit from the positive actions of LFC Foundation.
