AcademyKoumas and Musialowski on PL2 Player of the Month shortlist

The Reds U21s pair are among eight players selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel, after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opponent in each of their league matches in the month.

Musialowski enjoyed a fine October, scoring in both of Liverpool’s PL2 fixtures, against Crystal Palace and Leeds United.

The Poland U21 international also registered a goal and an assist in the EFL Trophy defeat at Blackpool, and picked up an assist as Liverpool drew with Benfica in the Premier League International Cup.

Koumas, meanwhile, made a successful return to action after an injury lay-off, scoring twice in the 4-2 win at Palace on October 1 and impressing in the 2-2 draw at Leeds last weekend.

The full shortlist for the PL2 Player of the Month award for October is: Yago Alonso (Tottenham Hotspur), Tawanda Chirewa (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Jamie Donley (Tottenham), Lewis Koumas (Liverpool), Callum Marshall (West Ham United), Mateusz Musialowski (Liverpool), Ademola Ola-Adebomi (Palace), Charlie Wellens (Reading).

The panel will decide the winner, who will be announced on Friday November 10.
