Press conferenceKlopp on Luis Diaz: ‘Debut was just a starting point - there’s more to come’
The Colombian registered an assist just minutes after coming on as a substitute in last weekend's Emirates FA Cup win over Cardiff City at Anfield.
But as the No.23 continues to adjust to life at his new club, Klopp believes his performance levels will only get better as a result.
He told a press conference on Wednesday: “So we didn't spend the full time together. It was for training sessions and these kind of things.
“We had obviously [a] longer talk together with Pep Lijnders, who speaks Portuguese and Spanish as well, and we could have a proper talk. He's a really nice guy.
“I liked his contribution a lot when he came on in the Cardiff game, and from there we go.
“Yesterday, [we had] a normal session he enjoyed a lot. I'm not sure if you could see pictures of our training session, we started with a longer rondo and I'm not sure I ever saw a player smiling that constantly during a rondo! So he enjoyed it and the rest of the session as well, so that's all good.
“I think we could see very naturally he fitted in the last game, played exactly how we wanted him to play from a position point of view.
“That's only a starting point, so a lot more to come and we work on that.”
