AcademyJayden Danns returns as Liverpool U18s lose Swansea friendly
The team’s top scorer so far this season, Danns stepped up his recovery by featuring for the opening 45 minutes of the encounter at the Kirkby Academy.
U18s boss Marc Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpoolfc.com post-match: “Swansea were a lot older than us and had three first-year pros in their side, and we were young.
“To be fair, they played very well and we made some mistakes which they punished.
“It was great to get Dannsy back out there after missing the last few games with a knock.
“It was also a great learning curve for the young boys in our team, as you are not always going to have it all your own way, so they have to get used to finding a way when things aren’t going well out there.
“We also got a few younger lads back from injury so there are positives.”
The U18s are back in competitive action when they host Newcastle United in the U18 Premier League Cup next Saturday.
