Round-upInternationals: Trent Alexander-Arnold on the scoresheet for England on Friday
The 24-year-old operated in a midfield role for the Euro 2024 qualifier and netted his nation's second with a curler from outside the area in the 28th minute.
Alexander-Arnold also produced a fine through ball in the build-up to the Three Lions' opener – an own goal – and played all of the contest, while Jordan Henderson featured for the opening hour.
"I enjoyed it," Liverpool's No.66 said post-match. "I love playing football, I love being on the pitch, I love representing my country. So to be out there and to play the full 90, I was happy.
"After that little break after the end of the season, I'm getting fitness back in my legs and towards the end I got a bit tired – but overall I enjoyed that and I'll remember that one."
On playing in midfield, he continued: "It's still early doors and I haven't played it too much, but it feels comfortable, it feels natural is what I will say.
"It's somewhere I enjoy playing and it's somewhere where I can see myself playing as well.
"For me, it's about getting myself into this team and trying to be a regular name on the teamsheet. I think today was a good foundation to build on."
Elsewhere in qualifying action on Friday, Ibrahima Konate helped France keep a clean sheet in their 3-0 victory over Gibraltar, with the centre-half playing 84 minutes of the Group B encounter.
Kostas Tsimikas starred for Greece as they beat the Republic of Ireland 2-1 at home. Caoimhin Kelleher was an unused substitute for the visitors.
Conor Bradley played 77 minutes for Northern Ireland in their 1-0 loss away at Denmark.
And finally, Luis Diaz appeared for Colombia as they defeated Iraq 1-0 in a friendly.
