Liverpool forward Ekitike came off the bench with around 10 minutes remaining as Les Bleus won 2-0 against Ukraine in their first World Cup qualifier. Ibrahima Konate started and finished the match in Wroclaw, Poland.
Salah was captain and netted from the penalty spot in a 2-0 victory over Ethiopia that moves Egypt closer to automatic qualification for next year’s World Cup.
Andy Robertson was also in action, as he skippered Scotland in a goalless draw away to Denmark in their opening World Cup qualifier.
Jayden Danns, meanwhile, scored while captaining England U20s during a 2-1 friendly loss to Italy.
Finally, Alexander Isak was an unused substitute for Sweden in their 2-2 draw with Slovenia in World Cup qualifying.
