NewsInternationals: Andy Robertson assists and Curtis Jones stars for England U21s

Robertson played the whole of his nation's 2024 European Championship qualifier against Cyprus and set up the opening goal at Hampden Park, driving into the left side of the area to find John McGinn with a looping cross in the 21st minute.

Substitute Scott McTominay then struck twice late on for Steve Clarke's side in the Group A contest, with Robertson delivering the pass for the second of those.

Elsewhere, Jones scored and assisted for England U21s in their home friendly with France.

The Liverpool midfielder stepped off the bench in the 65th minute to assist Noni Madueke, ahead of finding the target himself thanks to a clever flick in the 4-0 win, with Emile Smith Rowe and Jacob Ramsey also netting.

Harvey Elliott started the game for the Young Lions and completed 73 minutes before being replaced.
