NewsGiovanni Leoni shortlisted for 2025 Golden Boy Award
By Chris Shaw
The prestigious annual accolade, organised by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, picks out the best players aged under 21 based in Europe.
Leoni joined the Reds in August after a breakthrough 2024-25 campaign in Serie A with Parma.
He also earned a first senior call-up for Italy during the September international window.
The 18-year-old centre-back made his debut under Arne Slot last month in a Carabao Cup clash with Southampton, though an injury sustained late in that tie was subsequently confirmed as an anterior cruciate ligament tear that will sideline him long term.
The Golden Boy winner for this year is set to be announced in December.
