InterviewArne Slot pays tribute to the 'crucial' team behind the team at Liverpool
The Reds stormed to the title in Slot’s first season as head coach and were crowned with four matches to spare.
Naturally, the boss has received widespread public acclaim but he has detailed the importance of his coaches and the wider staff at the AXA Training Centre.
Slot told Liverpoolfc.com: “[The staff are] crucial, crucial for every successful club.
“Because I’m sitting here now, probably some certain players are going to sit in front of this camera as well, and those [the staff] are the ones that are behind our success that you hardly ever see. But this training ground is a great facility.
“We have a great programme. But you can have the best facility in the world and a great programme as well, but if you don’t have the right personalities, not only as professionals but also as human beings, then it’s very difficult to get success.
“So the way the staff interacts with each other, but the staff also interacts with the players, that is what gives us that extra five to 10 per cent, because all the teams we face have great facilities, great programmes, great players.
“So then staff does make a difference and OK, in the end the players win the league for us, but they can only do this if they feel comfortable and always happy to come here because there’s a good vibe over here, they feel that they’re being taken care of really well.
“And I think that’s what they feel at professional level because we’ve got all top, top, top professionals. But I also feel that there’s a great interaction between everyone in this building and that’s only going to happen if you’re great human beings as well.”
