Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah are on the shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Season award.

The Liverpool pair are among the eight nominees for the annual prize in recognition of outstanding individual form that has helped the Reds compete for the title.

Alexander-Arnold has registered 12 assists and scored twice in the top flight, while also contributing to the team’s tally of 21 clean sheets.

Salah – who was recently crowned the Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association – leads the division for goals (22) and assists (13) so far this term.

They are up against Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United), Joao Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) and James Ward-Prowse (Southampton).
