NewsAdrian announces retirement from football
The Spaniard will hang up his gloves as a professional after current club Real Betis’ final game of the 2025-26 season on Saturday, against Levante.
Adrian spent five years with the Reds after joining on a free transfer in the summer of 2019.
He was thrust into a debut as a substitute for Alisson Becker just days after arriving, and then helped Liverpool win the UEFA Super Cup with a save in the penalty shootout versus Chelsea.
Adrian featured 11 times in the Premier League during 2019-20 as Jürgen Klopp’s team claimed the title with 99 points.
Remaining an important member of the squad, the stopper was involved in eight matches across the next four seasons, including the FA Community Shield victory over Manchester City in 2022.
Adrian had been at West Ham United for six years prior to moving to Merseyside.
He began his senior career at Betis and returned to the Spanish side when he left the Reds in 2024.
