Newsadidas unveils official match ball as Liverpool kick off Champions League campaign

As Liverpool get set to begin another Champions League campaign, adidas has unveiled the official match ball for 2025-26.

This is the ball that will be used throughout the tournament – from this week’s opening matchday, when the Reds host Atletico Madrid at Anfield, to the final in Budapest next year.

Designed for the big moments

The Champions League ball features the classic star-panel design on a white base, with gold outlines and deep-blue tones inspired by the night sky. Hand-drawn zodiac signs in gold add a subtle nod to the stories and moments that shape each campaign.

It carries the adidas Badge of Sport, along with the official Champions League logo.

The ball is designed to meet the demands of top-level football. Key features include:

- PRISMA surface texture for improved precision and swerve

- Seamless, thermally bonded construction for better control and durability

- CTR-CORE technology for consistent shape and air retention

- Sustainable materials, including corn fibres, sugar cane, wood pulp, and natural rubber – making this the most eco-conscious Champions League ball to date
