Young Reds fans who attended the recent LFC International Academy Player experience were recently treated to a surprise visit from club legend Ian Rush.

The lucky attendees, aged between five to 15 years were already set to receive a certificate signed by the LFC legend, but on this occasion they were fortunate enough to meet him in person as well.

Arriving at Anfield, Ian spent the evening making his way around the groups, chatting to attendees and offering his advice and expertise on how the young aspiring footballers could learn to play The Liverpool Way just as he did.

As LFC’s all-time leading goal scorer with 346 goals, his experience and knowledge of how to succeed at the top of the game is second to none.

The event was a huge success. The children walked out into the world-famous arena to the sound of You’ll Never Walk Alone, before having the chance to emulate their heroes by scoring at the Kop end. Their time on the pitch was spent participating in carefully designed sessions covering all aspects of the game.

In addition, participants received a junior membership for the 2018/19 season, an LFC gift, a medal and a certificate signed by Ian Rush himself.
