Liverpool FC is excited to announce a new, long-term agreement that will see the launch of an LFC International Academy in the city of Mississauga, in Ontario, Canada.

LFC International Academy Mississauga will offer a year-round development programme to young players aged from four to 18 years old. This tutelage will be shaped by the coaching principles that are at the centre of what is taught at LFC’s Academy in Liverpool, and all coaches will have access to LFC Coach Accreditation.

Through the unique coaching methods of LFC there will also be a focus on improving key life skills of the young participants, such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving and organisation.

The academy will deliver coaching through a varied programme of activities, with a combination of soccer camps, and teams for players of all abilities, from beginners to those more experienced.

Ian Rush, Reds legend and LFC International Academy ambassador, said: “We’re really excited to be adding LFC International Academy Mississauga to our roster of global International Academies.

“The expert coaching provided will not only help young players to become more technically proficient by working on a wide range of footballing skills, but will also offer them the opportunity to develop other transferrable life skills, like confidence and working as part of a team.

“The focus on development will also extend to our coaches, who will benefit from a comprehensive coach education scheme which includes the LFC International Academy global coach accreditation, training which allows them to deliver coaching ‘The Liverpool Way’.”

Peyvand Mossavat, LFC IA Mississauga director of football, said: “We are thrilled to start this exciting new journey as LFC IA Mississauga.

“This transition represents more than just a rebranding - a commitment to excellence in our coaching, player development, and community engagement. We are reimagining the future of soccer in our city, nurturing talent and fostering a new generation of champions.

“We look forward to welcoming new players to our talent ID sessions and open trials. We will continue to make Mississauga proud on and off the pitch.”
