    Thomas Bennett's solitary game for Liverpool came in the ninth fixture of the 1919-20 season, away to Chelsea.

    He took over the No.8 shirt from Fred Pagnam, who had played in all of the eight previous matches.

    But Bennett never played for the Reds again and was forced into retirement from football at a young age after suffering ill health. He died at the age of 31.
