Arriving from FC Porto in August 2010, Raul Meireles was perhaps Roy Hodgson's most successful signing for Liverpool - but he still left the club after a single season having handed in a transfer request.
The Portuguese midfielder fired five goals in 44 appearances - all of which came in the second half of his spell at Anfield under Hodgson's successor, Kenny Dalglish.
His Reds debut had come in September 2010 when he came off the bench in a goalless draw at Birmingham City and he blasted his first goal in a 2-2 derby draw versus Everton.
Meireles also scored a stunner at Wolverhampton Wanderers and a winner at Stamford Bridge.
But with his place in jeopardy following a summer bolstering that saw midfielders Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam join the club, Meireles asked to leave and moved to Chelsea minutes before the transfer window closed in August 2011.
