Brazilian goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga joined Liverpool FC from Fluminense in October 2020 and signed a new contract in January 2024.
Pitaluga, aged 17 when he arrived on Merseyside, had previously been named on the bench for the Brazilian club for two Serie A matches. He was also in the Brazil squad that lifted the FIFA U17 World Cup on home soil in November 2019.
In 2021-22, Pitaluga was named on the bench for the Reds' senior team on four occasions and played regularly at U23 level.
The stopper spent time on loan with Macclesfield FC during the 2022-23 campaign and also returned to his parent club to feature in training and for the U21s.
